BID TO HOST CLIMATE SUMMIT

AUSTRALIA will present a more ambitious UN emissions target “very soon” and is bidding to co-host a COP summit with Pacific island neighbours, Foreign Minister Penny Wong said, signalling a shift in climate policy. Wong, pictured, travelled to Fiji on Thursday. Her visit coincided with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s tour of Pacific Island countries, including Fiji.
