Make a special gift for dad’s special day

| SASHEN NAIDU

THREE-YEAR-OLD Nehemiah Naicker wonders what to make for dad Nash in the #MadeInChatsworth Super Dad art competition, while baby brother Neymar has his own ideas. Super dads of all descriptions will be celebrated at tomorrow’s #MadeInChatsworth Market with an unusual children’s art competition. The idea is to recycle old clothing or a household item into a piece of art with a fatherhood theme. “Wouldn’t it be fun if daddy’s old sock were turned into a finger puppet or a milk carton made into a model car?” asked event organiser Kiru Naidoo. The popular market, at Depot Road Memorial Primary School, is into its fifth week and complies fully with the latest Covid-19 regulations. Prizes will be on offer to the winning entrants, which they can present to their dads on the special day. Entries can be brought to the market for display on Sunday from 9am. Judging and prize-giving are at 2pm. Schools and parents are also encouraged to enter their children’s names in the competition by WhatsApp at 073 685 5426.
